Usamaru Furuya

This is a pretty solid volume about a depressed teen who feels alienated from the world and believes that he needs to play a role in order to fit in (hello, younger me). I totally related to the main character's feelings of not understanding other people and his whole existential crisis. The story is fast-paced with some intense moments, and the art does what it needs to do. I do feel that everything goes by pretty quickly, I would have liked to delve further into the protagonist's head, as dark a place it would have been... but I would probably have to read Dazai's original work for that (actually, the reason I picked this one up was because I was already interested in the original novel).… (mehr)
