Of Snakes And Men is a standalone by Jessica Gadziala in her Navesink Bank world. I'm so glad we finally got a book on Hope and with A, bonus! Since meeting them in previous books they have intrigued me and I was not disappointed at all that they ended up together.
Hope is a Henchmen MC princess being Renny's daughter and she's also a P.I. trying to prove herself in a man's world (aka her to co-workers) that she was just as good if not better than them. She gets that chance when A comes into her office looking to hire them because he fears there is something going on in his organization that he doesn't know about. He only wants Hope, for many reasons but to me, the most important one is she's from his world growing up in the MC, so she knows what to look for. Hope starts out hating him for being forced to do this, especially living with him, posing as his new maid, and just as he's getting past her walls he's does the typical man thing trying to protect her and says bye, but it's definitely not that easy in Navesink Bank.
I gave this book a 4-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. I was happily surprised to learn A wasn't just some cold-hearted cartel leader but had a soft heart when needed and a love of books! I mean he unintentionally got Hope to go to the library to actually look at books… to read!! And Val just stole my heart that adorable boy. Val is definitely Hope's now that's for sure. The epilogue as always was awesome, loved it! I can't wait to see what Jessica gives us from Navesink Bank next, maybe Vi?… (mehr)

Dissent (Scars) (Volume 2) von Jessica Gadziala

Fiona's (From A Good Time Call,,) brother Isaiah is slowly adjusting to being out in the world and screwing his way through everyone. He meets his neighbor Darcy who is a metal star and feels...something. Not used to the challenge he follows her on tour where she's acquired a stalker. Misunderstandings, screwed up childhood trauma, and facing their demons makes up the story. I love Gadziala books but this one just wasn't up to par. Characters didn't really face everything and kind of disjointed.

The Middle Man (Professionals) von Jessica Gadziala

Lincoln & Gemma's story. The ladies man who has terrible luck with women, cutting them loose after the usual 3 months. Gemma, Jules little sister who's worked at the office before. She's got herself into a mess of corporate espionage trying to bring a company down for poisoning people with it's chemicals. Threats on her life has her sneaking into the fixer office to secretly stay instead of going home. Lincoln catches her and takes her home to protect her and look into the situation. Building their friendship has them falling for each other a little more. The rest of the team are brought in to help with the case while the two try to keep their relationship a secret. Finally fessing up, the case pulls them closer together and some miscommunication puts them at odds. Great building of the "professionals" universe. We learn more about Finn, Miller, & Bellamy who are in later in the series books. Looking forward to reading them.… (mehr)
