5.0 out of 5 stars Nice surprise!, January 18, 2014

This review is from: HIGHLANDER'S BRIDE (Heart of the Highlander Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
I don’t normally read Historical Fiction as I am a Fantasy writer and reader but I was given this book at a convention where I met the author and so decided to read it, and was glad I did.
I found Highlander's Bride to be well written with strong characters and great attention to detail. The story revolves around Alexander and Katherine. Two strong-willed people who are forced into a marriage neither wants. Their explosive relationship begins with distrust and is volatile from beginning until the end. The attraction is there but the obstacles and secrecy, along with, betrayal and duty, make for a suspenseful ride that might end up shattering not only Alexander and Katherine, but the families who are also bound to each other in a fight to make the union work. The story is full of twists and turns, villains and heroes, and enough mystery to leave you guessing what is going to happen next.
I give Highlander’s Bride 5 stars. I received this book for free and was not asked for a review.

Al Tate, is a stockbroker who is tired of the city life and dreams of moving to the country. Susan is a small town girl who writes steamy romance for a magazine and dreams of the big city. She moves into her new apartment where leaky faucets and loud noises outside are an aggravating distraction. She goes to check out the loud noises outside and that is when all the fun begins. No spoilers, I will just say, you will not be disappointed.

Ms. Gafford's characters are well fleshed out and the humor will have your sides hurting from laughing so hard. It is fun to watch Al and Susan as they trip and fall over themselves and each other until...
