Lawrence Galante is both a student and a teacher. He holds an M.A. in Oriental Philosophy and Mysticism, and has been a student of Martial Arts since 1964. His man interest is tai chi chuan, which he has pursued seriously since 1966, and has studied with Master Kuo Lien Ying, Master T.T. Liang, and Grand Master Chen Man-ch'ing. Mr. Galante is also a black belt in karate and a student of numerous styles of Kung Fu, including Shao-lin and Northern Praying Mantis. He teaches Tai Chi in New York City at his own school, and also teaches at New York University and the Fashion Institute of Technology. He has produced an audio tape of this book, as well as a video and a film of Yang style solo tai chi. He has instucted thousands of students in both hard and soft style of the martial arts across the U.S.A., Europe, Asia and Central America. Mr. Galante is currently working on a new book about Push Hands.

'I am very pleased that Lawrence Galante has written such a rare and good book. After reading it, you conclude that it is like a lighthouse for the ships at sea, or like a signpost along the road for cars on land, or the way to immortality for human beings. I recommend it without reservation to anyone living in this world of tension and desires. It shows the way to longevity and to a peaceful and quiet life.'-Master T.T. Liang

This is an excellent book for those already familiar with Chuan style tai-chi, looking to improve their form and movement.

I would not recommend this book - or any book that teaches such a fine form - for beginners.
