An instruction manual for cats written by cats. Fluffy and Bonkers give tips and dos and don'ts for a variety of situations that cats face in their daily lives of coexisting with humans.

Consider it a 'Dear Abyssinian' meets 'Hints from Havana Brown' helping guide. Covering such topics as 'The Art of Swiping Food', 'The Laws of Petting', 'Kitty Litter, Explained' and more. All to help the feline keep the upper paw in their domicile.

This is actually a parody (as stated in the title) of a self-help manual and is pretty tongue-in-cheek. A fun book that can be read in bits and pieces. There are also short bios on the writers in the back of the book.

Fun!!

I received this little gem as a Christmas present from my sister, and while I don't generally read much humor/parody, I knew I was going to love this book! With chapters such as "Reasons You Meant to Do That," "Kitty Litter Explained," "For Black Cats - Making the Most of Superstition," and ""Getting Away With It," The Devious Book for Cats is the perfect book for any cat lover (and her cats, of course!)

The authors have expertly captures most of the cat-isms and behaviors we all know and love, as well as some interesting insights into subjects such as cats throughout history (with a special emphasis on Egypt,) and the big cat relatives of domestic cats.

The Devious Book for Cats is freakin' hilarious! Word to the wise though: read it when you are alone, in the privacy of your own home. If you read this book in public, you will be pointed at and talked about, because there is no way to read it without loud chortling and guffaws - consider yourselves warned, people!

The dangerous book for dogs : a parody is written by Rex and Sparky (and helped by their editors at The onion) for their canine friends who need some basic information including how to make toys and beds out of household items, how to protect your territory, training your owner, the best jobs for a dog, and of course, how to escape your fenced in yard. Then there are tales of dog heroes, like MikMik, who discovered the land Bridge across the Bering Strait, and Sergei and Alexi, who trained Pavlov; and tales of foes like squirrels and fleas. This is a complete book of instructions for your dog, from how to spoil a dinner party to the best ways to ride in a car. And a complete set of instructions for the dog’s owner so she/he understands how to behave as well.

The book is written into short chapters so, when reading it, your dog will not lose his precious nap time of at least 21 hours a day. There are also illustrations which are invaluable, especially for identifying potential toys as well as plotting how to foil the mailman, who has the temerity of entering sacred turf. And, for the dog who heeds these instructions, there are a set of awards which can be copied and applied to a dog tag, showing jobs well done, from chasing and chew chewing to duck hunting and bone burial.

Now for the hard part – reading some of these chapters to Lady, a rescue beagle who would rather snooze than do anything else. She really needs the chapter on how to beg at the table as well as how to play with toys. But doing any of these things, including reading or barking, would interfere with quality time on her favorite living room chair. She thinks Rex and Sparky are overdoing it and should just find a comfy spot and stay put. But, for the ambitious dog, this book is essential reading!
