A book I discovered while seeking out stories about the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, Taiwan: Lisa Lin's Painting "Making Mooncakes" is part of the Young Artists of the World series, created around the original paintings of children from different countries, and published in collaboration with the IACA World Awareness Children's Museum. Based in Glen Falls, New York, this museum collects children's art and educational artifacts from around the globe. Although not what I was initially seeking, I found this book informative, and I greatly appreciated the idea behind the series to which it belongs. Namely, to foster greater awareness of global cultural diversity among the young, by using the artwork and stories of actual children.
