This was a quick, fun read involving chocolate, a Persian cat and a Frenchman. What more does one need in life?

Isabel has a crush on Lewis. Well, at least when the two are 9 years old and still in primary school. Izzy is determined to take their friendship to the next level and after school tries to hold Lewis' hand. He is shocked, as all the other kids can see it and can't get away quick enough. Izzy hopes, they will be able to talk about it the next day.
Sadly, the day never comes, as she will never see her friend at school again. A terrible tragedy has happened to his family.

17 years later, Isabel's life has moved on and in just a few weeks time, she will be married to Norman. Honest, reliable Norman. Maybe he's a bit boring and has heavy bones, but you can't beat a completely predictable future, can you? Who needs passion after all?

Out of the blue, something totally unexpected happens, something which will rock her world and change it forever. It all starts quite harmless, when she receives at the beginning of February a Valentines card. OK, it's a bit early, but it's the handwriting which is puzzling and the text is...well....Norman certainly isn't pleased. But, if he thinks the card is a mayor concern, he's in for a much bigger surprise and so is Izzy.
Will the story end for Isabel and Norman with a HEA?

As far as I'm concerned the Valentines card is surely one of the most romantic ones, I've come across and I loved the idea.
The Oddest Little Romance Shop is my first "visit" to one of the author's wee odd shops and I highly enjoyed it. The novella is romantic and funny and I didn't want it to end.
It made for a lovely Sunday afternoon read.
