The prose of the author's descriptions of the plants and her personal experiences with them was really lovely. The book progresses through the seasons with patterns from spring to fall. They're very detailed and pretty; though most aren't my personal style, I adored the tall gladioli pattern with the bulb at the bottom growing into the flower at the top.

The author provides multiple ideas for embellishing the patterns, using different color fabrics, making pillows/napkins/tablecloths, etc.

The techniques section at the back was definitely not detailed enough for a beginner.… (mehr)
