One star not because book was all that bad but because Im mad at it for wasting my time. Heretronormalitive as hell and the plot was formulaic and stupid. Tomboy girl wants to spend time with her guy friends, but an annoying girly girl in the way, then they go on adventures and learn girly girl isnt that bad and embrace their own femininity...also the hillbillies are bad and scary and the military saves the day. What? Anyway I probably should have returned it once I saw it was a James Paterson sponsored thing.… (mehr)

This was the first book that I've read in the Specialists series about several young adults with many unique talents who have been recruited to join a team to go out on missions. Even though this book was told from the point of view of GiGi who was a computer analyst, this was not her story. The story was about Frankie or Wirenut. He was an expert thief and master of technical gadgets that aid in burglaries. He had become known as the Ghost because of his ability to get in and out of places no one else could go, but he only wrapped yellow ribbons around the valuables just to show that he was able to break in but had no interest in stealing them. Frankie was recruited by the Specialists and his talents were immediately put to use as he and Frankie went on a mission together to keep a neurotoxin from being released killing millions. This was an interesting story, but it lacked the emotional connection that I've found in similar stories by other authors. I might have found that connection had I read the first book that told GiGi's story.… (mehr)

I receive Scouts as an ACR at book con.

find an grammar error on pg 218

The main character, Annie is so much like me when I was a kid. I didn’t like making friends with girls at my school because their mean. Finally, someone has said it.

I don’t know about satellite exposing like bomb. The idea of aliens was brought up. With kids that type of stuff will easily come up. It was taken to far when Annie claims she saw an alien.

Points:

Characters: 5/5

Writing: 4/5

Plot: 4/5

1 – A character I can relate to.

Total: 14/20 = 4 *stars*

I was sent this book for free in exchange for a review

The time capsule Penny-ann created gets stolen and she's going to find it no matter what, sometimes her methods are questionable but by the end she understands some of the things she did to recover the capsule may not have been the best things.

In the beginning I didn't know if I was going to enjoy this book because she is pretty reckless for a 13 year old but by the end it was an enjoyable story about a girl who realizes she isn't the sum of her parent's mistakes.… (mehr)
