A strange little story where appliances become sentient and sometimes become involved in murder-suicides.

A guy named Will gets drunk on off-brand tequila, passes out, then rallies and sleep-cooks gourmet meals. His refrigerator is aware and appears to stock the necessary food for the recipes. That saves on groceries. Will and the narrator open a restaurant in Will's home, the basement of a shuttered candy factory in Tampa, That eventually goes bad and Will moves to a competing pirate restaurant across the bay in St. Petersburg. There's a guy who looks like Santa who may be controlling or poisoning the water supply. There's a lot of speculation and pure madness.

Humor abounds. Some of it even relates to the story. "Will learned the hard way that people named Colleen Conners don't like to be called Denise Richards." An off-beat book that keeps things interesting.… (mehr)
