2023 movie #66. 1970. A girl (Vetri) from the rock tribe falls for a boy (Hawdon) from the beach tribe and nobody is happy about it. Basically Romeo and Juliet with dinosaurs. It got an Oscar nom, not for the screenplay, but for the dinosaurs.
Set in a Japanese prisoner of war camp during World War II, the film focuses on the brutality and horror that the allied prisoners were exposed to as the Japanese metered out subjugation and punishment to a disgraced and defeated enemy. This harrowing drama concentrates on the deviations of legal and moral definitions when two opposing cultures clash. Although fictional, this was one of the earliest films to deal realistically with life and death in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp during the Second War. (fonte: Imdb)… (mehr)
2022 movie #41. 1966. Dr. Jason Love is recruited by MI6 for a simple mission to the Middle East that gets complicated quickly. Decent '60s British spy movie although, at 56, David Niven may have been a bit old for the part. The 1st of a series that didn't happen.
