An agreeable [icture book I liked as a child because I had a set of three panda teddy bears. In this story the 3 pandas meet Willie --they enjoy playing with him, but when they take him home their mother tries and fails to wash him --it turns out he is a black bear. HIs poppa turns up and everyone is friendly. Possibly there is an underlying racial motif, but if so it is not stressed.

The five stars are based on the fact that I remembered this book fondly though I was given it 60 years ago. Nowadays, I would find it mildly amusing. It is about a family of pandas who receive a mysterious present from their uncle. I had three teddy bear pandas when I was young which may explain why I loved this story.
