I love, love, love sestinas. The skill of the artist tackling poetry in a very specific way. “Beautiful Poetry” was a delight. A book of poetry sprinkled with humor is always welcome on our shelf.

I can't say this book was my favorite volume of modern poetry, but there were passages that were timely, raw, and personal. Guthrie is as honest as she is forthright, and if you're into that sort of thing, go for it. If you're not, go for it anyway -- this one still has fun moments.

Not usually what I pick up and read but appreciated the author’s honesty about where she was in her life experience and the growth and changes she was going through.

Good poems, some of which evoked feeling in me, others which fell flat. I would recommend it.
