- He was ordained to preach among the Disciples of Christ in 1898. The following year he moved to Michigan and began his preaching career. He committed scriptures to memory and could quote in excess of 25 continuous hours worth of Scripture without looking at a reference including narratives of every book from the longest to the shortest.
Doctor Halley was presented with the Chicago Bible Society's Gutenberg Award in 1961.

Back to the Bible Study New Testament is a "Pocket Handbook," covering a rather wide range of material. Included is Unger's Bible Handbook and Halley's Bible Handbook.
Halley's Bible Handbook is an abbreviated Bible Commentary.
This popped up in my Recommendations and I realized I had read it in the 80's - maybe not every word, but I used it quite a bit as a good reference.
The contents of this book never become out of date. Admittedly, much of this information can now be found on-line, but not in the fashion which Henry Halley expressed it.
