After reading "Your Bed or Mine," I just had to read the next book in the housewives fantasy club series "Dinner first,me later." This book focuses on another resident of the Woodberry Park suburb, Alicia Greene. In "Dinner first,me later," Alicia Greene is a successful relator who is enjoying her thriving business and her friends Zada,Jen, and Tish. All of that changes the day Jake Sims moves into the neighborhood. Jake Sims is a retired baseball player/underwear model who has moved to Woodberry Park in hopes to create a new life and home for him and his estranged teen daughter Danielle. Alicia, unknown to Jake, had a teen crush had a crush on Jake which she buried after a awful appearance in a Barbara Walters interview. Unfortunately for Jake, not only does her have to convince Danielle that he's a good guy,he's going to have to convince Alicia too. Throughout the book, Halliday creates a story with a lot of heart and depth as well as a lot of passion. I sympathized with Jake as his heart broke after being abandoned by his wife.I also enjoyed the reading the interactions between Alicia and Danielle. The way Danielle behaved reminded me of friends I've know who drastically changed their appearance to get attention. The scenes of passion between Jake and Alicia are both well written as well as hot. I personally liked the way Halliday described the scene down to the smallest detail;this helped me get more involved in the story. I also liked that Halliday gives a "quick & dirty" summary of "Your Bed or Mine" for those who may not have read the book yet. Halliday also does a great job in giving each character a back story and life,even if the character is in the story for a brief time. Overall,this book was a great read and I'm looking forward to more Housewives Fantasy Club books in the future.… (mehr)
