Irene Maloy Haroldson

Listed as "juvenile", this book also charms adults. I think it could also be used for elderly people with memory problems; it might provide enjoyment to read someone else's childhood memories.
We are used to immigrant stories from the 1800's, but Irene immigrated in 1947. This book provides short chapters about events as she was growing up on an island fishing community in Norway. I like the night skiing, with the snowy evergreens looking like trolls.
