It was very easy for me to connect with Jules in this book, as her inner thoughts portrayed through-out the situations she faces. The simple, yet one or two line inner thoughts are usually what I would be thinking had I been in her place.

For example upon giving her keys to a valet who then turns and kindof sneers at her beat-up looking BMW, she thinks to herself "She may be old and run-down, but she's mine!" This would be exactly what I would have thought myself to this valet, although I may just have said aloud too.

Jules portrays a very emotionally charged woman that hides behind her true feelings. The development of this character is very real to many that I know. I felt connected, especially emotionally. I became frustrated at her meek demeanor, the not standing up for herself or for what she wanted. I was excited at all small or big instances of breaking out of her shell. Andrew was someone that I really wanted to slap through most of the book, along with a few other colorful characters.

I promise that you will be moved by the transformation of Jules, the journey of being independent. This is much more than just family troubles, relationship issues, etc.

Don't Forget to Breathe by Melinda Harris is a quick and quirky story of family, wealth, standing up for yourself, and, well duh, love!

Jules is basically a doormat for her family, friends co-workers. she has a kind heart and does for others when and where she can. But this does give her the air of being, for sake of repeating myself, a doormat. When she decides she's over it, it begins.

Andrew is a bit of a jerk. He can't seem to settle on a way to act and there were moments that made me so frustrated with/at him. Men! But if I've also never claimed to be entirely stable when it comes to book boyfriends, liking all the unstable ones...(John Zane, Jesse Ward, Sean Ferro, Anthony Rawlings...etc)

This book has it's funny moments, some snarky humor, but I recommend having some tissues handy too. Just to be on the safe side.

A Very enjoyable read!
