If one is interested in these particular aircraft, or British naval and military aviation in World War II in general, you'd probably be hard pressed to find a more informative book. This is as Harrison takes you through the history of Fairey the company, the history of British torpedo bombers, the procurement process that produced these aircraft, their characteristics, and their deployment. Further, Harrison spends a good bit of time on the training of the crews who flew these machines. That said, the particular issue here is that this book is long out of print (though relatively inexpensive copies can still be found). It also can't be said that the modeller is especially well served. This suggests that the next time a book is published on the Swordfish, it really should come from a publisher such as MMP/Stratus, or Valiant Wings; someone who is going to concentrate on precise details between production batches and color schemes.… (mehr)
