I was looking forward to this story but I was frustrated with the hero, he sets her up to see him with another woman to make her leave to protect her BUT... she was reliant on him for money as he had kept her at home and stopped her pursuing a career so how did he think she was going to live.. and the secret baby story, i didn't feel he had the right to be as angry as he did. After the way he treated her (cheating on her from her perspective) and with his 'mob' connections, of course she wasn't going to approach him.
I did like that they had frank conversations, his friends told him in no uncertain terms about his behavior.
Maybe a reflex reaction but he threatens to take the child away from her and although he regrets that, he gets told to show her more respect. I would have liked her to show more back bone at this point, she gives as good as she get for a while but gives in over this when she had struggled to provide for her child after what HE did. 'I own you' I didn't like that at all. He seemed to think what she did cancelled out his behavior... he created the situation.… (mehr)
