Janet Hawley is a journalist by profession. She has spent a good deal of her professional and private life in and around artists. This book consists of a number of profiles of Australian artists. Most of the profiles were published in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers; usually in a Saturday supplement: Good Weekend. In some cases she was able to prepare a profile based on a number of interviews conducted over decades. Anyone with an interest in Australian art will find them a useful source of information.
