Jennifer Heise

Again, the scholarship involved in this periodical was nice to see and it was put together in a very readable format. She makes a great case for seeing the Middle Ages as being cleaner than we modernly think of them. I appreciated the references to period sources and the extensive bibliography.

I found the scholarship in this excellent and the wealth of knowledge informative. It's not a particular favorite subject of mine, but the author knows her stuff and did a good job of conveying the information. I particularly appreciated the definition of terms used in period sources that might not be familiar to a modern audience.
