Elizabeth Helme

Nice historical fiction/bit of a mystery book with some HUGE caveats. It was written in the early 1800s and it's set during the Crusades. There's some pretty rampant anti-Islam crap in this book. It's not nasty, but it's very much in the "why won't you convert to the true faith" school of books from yesteryear. Also, since this is Elizabeth Helme and not Matthew Lewis, everyone practices a very Protestant 18th century sort of Catholicism.

That being said, is a nice, light story, with a few twists and a fun main female character. Adventures are had, many backstories are told, identities are revealed. More like a 3.5 than a 3.… (mehr)
