C. J. Henderson (1) (1951–2014)

Having read The Crow series earlier this year, I was surprised to find such a blatant copy of the series' main themes. That being said, I actually like Gaiman's concept of Justice (a spiritual being who momentarily gives others seeking justice incredible powers) more than the Crow's resurrection of a dead-man. Even though inherent violence is present in both works, Lady Justice is at times even more brutal than the Crow in her judgements, since she not only seeks vengeance on thos perpetrating the crimes and cuts a bloody swath through those in her path, but she also judges her own avatars who step out of line. I don't know if I would bother reading a long-term series based on this premise (for the same thematic repetition that left me bored with the Crow after the original run), but I can see the series having potential to be much more if it had been actually written by Gaiman rather than just a vague concept.… (mehr)
