Graily Hewitt (1) (1864–1952)

For such a little old book it is amazing, Written in a very 'old-fashioned' manner - understandably; it was first published in 1930; but it leaves nothing out - from alphabets to materials, layout to gilding - it's all there.
For a person starting to learn calligraphy it's a beginner's book, but five years later it's still keeping pace, and covering more advanced techniques, In fact it's almost worth saying that the calligrapher doesn't need to buy any additional books. Obviously more modern techniques and materials are not included - so maybe one other book is required!… (mehr)
