Allow a long afternoon for this family-friendly Regency romance which starts at Wickburn in September 1812, when Ashton Huntcliff Maitland, Marquess of Vandover, asks his grandmama, the Dowager Dutchess of Windburn, what she would like for Christmas. I had an ARC via Booksprout and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
The twist of this short story is essentially limited to Emma so the intriguing thief is abandoned. This disappointment overshadowed my enjoyment of this short story.
This book is is an excellent escape to recency romance. It did not matter that the characters lacked depth because they were delightfully adept at fulfilling their roles. There was mild tasteful turmoil for the protagonists amidst the flurry of scenes.
