Scott Hildreth you've done it again. A slow burn about Tate & Bobbi. He's an inmate on a bogus charge and she's a prison guard. They have little chats every day while she serves food trays to the inmates and are drawn to each other. He's solid muscle, a biker, & an author. She's a little overweight with image issues and a love for classic cars. Released from prison, Tate reunites with his motorcycle club (part of the "Biker MC Romance" series & an appearance by the main character in "His Rules") to bring down a human trafficking & drug ring and continues to write books. He & Bobbi meet up and get to know each other for months (without having sex, thank you very much) cultivating a relationship that blends into his latest novel and real life. Cash & Kimberly's story. 12 year age difference as K is the older divorced woman that Cash (the muscle for his MC) falls for. Cash is a little immature and a lot violent. Throw in Kim's irritating neighbor/friend Jennifer and Kim's wishy-washy behavior and you have a disjointed book. Cash beats up two of his "brothers", Kim has been robbed of her trust fund money, and you learn a little bit about the other MC members: (Baker=President/Brains, Reno=explosives, Ghost=mechanic/getaway driver, Tito=alarms/hacker, Goose=cook/weapons, Cash=muscle) Meh....I'm interested to check out Goose's story.… (mehr)

Baker is President of his MC. The MC robbed a bank prior and lo & behold, the teller (Andy) moves into the high rise building next door to Baker's business, MC headquarters, and home. He's intrigued by her and starts a sexual relationship with her hoping his MC doesn't find out because one of the group wants to kill her. This book didn't really do it for me. Baker is a hipster biker who wears skinny jeans, pork pie hats, & Chucks and I couldn't wrap that around my head as he was supposed to be a bad ass and a legit businessman. Andy was unlikable and spread her legs within ten minutes of meeting him and kept doing it and then they finally went out on dates. The story was kind of all over the place and not up to the usual high Hildreth standards. I will try other books in this series since some of the characters (Cash & Goose) were introduced with some background.… (mehr)

This is different than any Hildreth book I've read. (No explicit sex or a lot of club stuff and some chapters with a few of the Selected Sinners MC.) A battle scarred Marine, methodical, disciplined, loving, respectful, knows right from wrong, caring, honest, faithful, & loyal. What more can one ask for? Alec is my new book boyfriend! Serving for many tours and 12 years over in the sandbox where he saw a lot of death and destruction he only comes home on leave sporadically. Honorably discharged for injuries suffered protecting our country he comes home to his wife and finds that adjusting to civilian life and a spouse he barely knows to be a challenge leading to a divorce. Leaving Kansas for Texas on a journey of self discovery he meets new friends, takes on a new job, and meets a woman who just might be what he needs. Hope, tragedy, family, and learning how to bend has Alec in a whole new world that he has to adjust to and be the man he strives to be.
