The troubled trinity : Godoy and the Spanish monarchs von Douglas Hilt
A pretty pro-Godoy bio, advancing those parts of the mans policies that were in line with the Enlightenment. There is a good deal of information about his private life and two chapters about Godoy after his eclipse in 1808. There is a clear timeline for the Aranjuez deposition, but not as much detail about the Bayonne meeting with Napoleon as in the Epton book, "The Spanish Mousetrap". So, this is a must read book about the troubled peninsula that Napoleon invaded.
