A good mystery that kept me interested to the end.

Abbe Rene Reynard looks back twenty years to the 1770's when he was a curate in Montmartre and got involved in one of his earlier cases. The Odd Fellow or the Descrues de Bury. The count who bought an estate but then the previous owner disappeared.
An enjoyable short story mystery

1790 Paris. Commissaire Rouget Maison and Inspector Drabert investigate the case of the murdered clergy. Members of the clergy are being murdered, and suspects appear to be many including a female and a giant of a man.

1791 While at the funeral of Charles Rives, restaurant owner, a death occurs, which provides to be the result of poison.
But this will not be the last. Who is killing off this business owners and why.
