Do not recommend.
Illogical plot, worldbuilding, and character motivations.
Lots of inexcusable TSTL.
Bland writing.

Two stars are generous considering the lack of care about anything.
But I haven't read beyond chapter 4 (not even 2 hours into the audiobook) so I can not be sure it deserves just 1.
This is mostly a strong fmc power fantasy strongly inspired by Lara Croft but she is a superhero and has op magic (or somesuch). But without any brain. TSTL is commonplace here.
Every opportunity for proper storytelling instead just invokes all the tired UF tropes or clichées under the sun. There is no effort at writing a good story to be found here anywhere.
It opens with her being equipped to the teeth with throwing stars, two desert eagles she fires one-handed, two swords, two butterfly knives, and a whole lot of spinning in battle. I honestly got the impression she might be a combination of Lara Croft and a Beyblade.
It was laughably bad but just barely not bad enough to become entertaining again.

So, I read this in 2 days. It was that good. I think if you like the Shadowhunters series you will like this, though this is a more 'adult' version. There is lots of adult language, so if that's not your thing, then this isn't the book for you.

I really liked the main character Sapphire. I liked how she had nicknames for people; she had a real personality. There were also no characters that I wanted to die, which is new for me since there is usually at least one I want gone in books like this. I'm hoping that we get to dive into Lexar's character a bit more in the next book; I didn't really come away from this story feeling like I knew him at all. Abrah was pretty creepy and I still don't trust him. Speaking of Abrah, he is the reason I gave this 4 stars. And really, I give it 4.5.

So I know this is fiction, and I'm being weird about this, but I feel strongly about this subject, lol. Technically, Abrah is not Nephilim. Lexar and Sassy are. Nephilim are the children of the Fallen and humans and what we consider to be giants. The Book of Enoch is a really interesting book, along with Jubilees, and if you are interested in this kind of stuff you should check those books out. Why they were left out of the Bible who knows. King James didn't approve I guess.

Anyways, I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to the second book and finding out what happens between Sassy and Lexar. Hopefully we get to see more of Sassy's dad too.

I have to put a disclaimer that I got this for free in exchange for my review but it in no way affected my viewpoint!
