As someone who takes anti-anxiety medication, as someone who understands panic attacks and worries....I embrace this book wholeheartedly. So many youngsters badly anxiety and panic disorders. We need to destigmatize it. We need kids to feel like they can talk about it, that there are words for their emotions. Truly it is like a monster that never does leave. Which is okay. My counselor once said that acknowledging you have anxiety.....being willing to live in it....give it a name....that's the first step.

It was this time two years ago where my monster, the monster I had lived with my entire life, became too much for me. It's a time I do not regret as it has made me into who I am today. God gets ALL the glory for that....and leading me to the right doctor who got me help. So all in all, I want more exposure of the monsters. People don't need to do this alone… (mehr)

Why yes I do READ cookbooks! I love all the little notes and descriptions cookbook writers add at the beginning of their recipes. I first fell in love with Nadiya's bubbly personality on The Great British Baking show. Her two short series on Netflix are awesome, especially the series of the same title..."Nadiya Bakes". When I watched it several months ago I would go looking for the recipes online and only find them listed in British measurements which don't convert to American measurements as easy as I would have liked. Baking being one of those things that you can't just "wing it" with your measurements I was afraid nothing would turn out right if I tried to convert it and not have it just right. Then I found the book!!! All the recipes give BOTH forms of measurement, and the recipe notes read like your sitting having a cup of chai in Nadiya's kitchen while she lets you watch her bake something yummy!! I will now be going back to re-watch the series and then make these recipes myself! YAY!… (mehr)
