I've been wanting to finish this book since 2005! I was reading it to my mother while she was in hospital and sadly she passed away before we finished. The second reason I wanted to read about Forest Hall is because I drive past it every time we go through to Deloraine or Launceston and it always draws my eye. What a huge project Susan Irvine took on when she and her husband bought this rundown property on a gentle slope up from the highway at Elizabeth Town. Reading about the discoveries she made in the garden and surrounding paddocks is a gardeners delight, which I'm not, nevertheless I enjoyed reading about it. What really held my interest was her writing about the hidden history she uncovered in and about the house and the old out buildings. Beautiful photographs by Simon Griffiths help to elevate Susan's wonderfully descriptive text and make this a book anyone would be happy to have grace their coffee table!… (mehr)

I love this perfume book. I learned so much about perfume from it.
The photographs are clear, in full colour and up close.
Each perfume entry lists the major scents that are in that perfume by noting the top, middle, and base notes.
Anyone who wants to try different perfumes will find this book extremely handy as you can find perfumes that have qualities like your favorites.
You can find out who designed your perfume and in some cases who designed the bottles.
Interesting little stories are also told about most of the perfumes.
Do you know your supposed to store your perfume in the refrigerator? Do you know the difference between eau de parfum, eau de toilette, eau de cologne and eau fraiche?
I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys perfume. It would also make a lovely gift.
