Kurzbiographie: Peter James had been a full-time ghost hunter and psychic since 1980 and had been studying ghosts and his own psychic abilities since his first ghost encounter when he was seven years old and living in Rochester, New York. James spent eight years as the resident psychic on the television show Sightings, and he regularly conducted ghost tours of the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California, where he claimed there are more than 600 spirits haunting the ship. He passed away on 31 July 2007, and his work is carried on by his co-author Gian Temperilli, Gian's daughter Sophia, and psychic Erika Frost at the Queen Mary.

Heaven Can You Hear Me? von Peter James

When you get to sit at the feet of a master, you can forgive a few writing-style issues. (I admit to bias: in the past I have had the honor of sitting at this master's feet much more directly than by reading this book.) Peter James dedicated his life to a knowledge of the reality we usually call "ghosts." He did this with a passion for the truth, and a willingness to reject myth and dogma, that puts even many scientists to shame.

Most people mentally divide the universe into different levels based on what's socially-acceptable at the moment. Even though they "believe" in realities beyond the obvious concrete world, the levels remain separate, some more "real" than others. In this book, we glimpse a much more integrated concept of the universe, and the author challenges us to open our minds to some of the beings who are near us, often influencing us, and being influenced by us. There is, after all, only one universe.

Please don't confuse this Peter James with the English crime novelist, or several other authors, of the same name. This was Peter's only book, finished from notes after his death by his co-author Gian Temperilli. Peter also produced a couple of videos, one of which, "Ghost Encounters: The Queen Mary," is still available in DVD.
