Life of a chicken tells a very funny story about a chicken that got bored of her routine and was afraid of being served on the dinner plate. The story goes to show the different adventures the chicken goes through until it found a new home. It will be a great read during ELA because of the rhyming words.

Genre- Fantasy
Age- Primary and intermediate
About the life as a chicken and how he's trying to find where he belongs. This book is also really funny and also has a fun rhyme to it. This book is a good example of fantasy because it starts out as it could be real and then gets very imaginative. The chicken does and goes through things no real chicken would ever do. This book also gives the message to never give up.
I would use this book just as a fun encouraging book.

This is a silly, fun read-aloud. It has quite a bit of quality high-level vocabulary that was worth discussing.

Characterization: The chicken in th story is a round and dynamic character. She tells the reader all about her life as a chicken and how she is sick and tired of sitting and laying eggs all day, wondering if she is going to be eaten. She changes and develops as she decides to leave the farm and go out on an adventure to find safety. After leaving the farm she realizes that is where she wants to be afterall.
Review: This is a good example of fantasy because it makes the story of a talking chicken with logical thought seem possible. After escaping the frying pan, the chicken has an adventure that includes pirates, a typhoon, and a balloon ride before landing in a petting zoo.… (mehr)
