Out of the Woods von Esther Kellner
Account of the lives of three baby squirrels found by Kellner and her husband. The Kellners raised the squirrels as pets and the book contains both cute stories and well-observed comments on the behavior of the eastern fox squirrel. The book also shares a good deal of central Indiana folklore, especially about weather and the behavior of animals. Entertaining for itself; extremely helpful to anyone studying squirrels.

I got this book at a RIF day in elementary school in 1976, and it quickly became one of my favorite books.
