The problem with books that purport to predict the future is that their predicted future is now in the past and one can see just how well they predicted. I guess if you are looking at a 21 year time frame then you can be reasonably confident that economies will expand. That's what they predicted and yes it has come to pass. And emerging economies now make up about 50% of global GDP (More on a PPP basis. I'm not so sure that they got it right about trade being freed up and barriers virtually disappearing. And there is no mention of epidemics ...let alone pandemics such as COVID...which actually happened in 2020+ and at the tail end of their predictions. It's actually ages since I read it....which was in about the year 2000 and it was a very optimistic and up-beat view of the world and things to come. The twin trade towers were still standing in New York and the "Axis of Evil" hadn't been invented. None of this was predicted. And, in fact, the general tone was that there would be no major world wars: Correct. Interestingly, they dis suggest that a resurgence of Russian nationalism will someday pose a military threat to the same neighbours that the Soviet Union dominated for half a century. And we've seen this with Ukrainia.
An interesting book but at this stage it's going to the charity auction...maybe somebody interested in the fate of predictions will be interested. I give it four stars.
