I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved the complexity of the characters. That they had real life problems and craziness to keep them moving. Nathan and Alexandra meet and end up being each others lifeline. In the meantime they fall in love and meet some new friends. Lots of action and sometimes a little hard to follow. All in all a great read, fun, romance, laughter and tears. What comes next? More of Nathan and Alexandra??

Jake, Kyle and Ellie are making their unusual relationship work. With Valentine’s Day rolling around, Jake and Kyle want to show Ellie how much they love and appreciate her, so they plan a treat-filled evening for the three of them. But you know what they say about best laid plans, right?

I enjoyed meeting Jake, Kyle and Ellie in book 1, Werewolves in the Kitchen and this story continues with their relationship. Ellie is working a lot of hours and Jake and Kyle want to do something special for and with her for Valentine’s Day. But just as they get started with the nommy celebrations, an injured werewolf shows up needing aid. Pack business has to come before, well, cumming, so they take the injured guy to their pack. In the process they find out something nefarious is going on and then Ellie gets caught up in pack politics. She’s human, but she’s mated to two werewolves and the situation is strained. To put it mildly.

I enjoyed the continuation of their story and the inclusion of the pack and the problems they have to deal with. I love these characters and I’m looking forward to reading more about their life in and out of the pack as they try to build a life together.

*Book source ~ A review copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

When Ellie was fired for complaining about her boss’s sexual harassment, she grabbed at a job offer at SpiralStone retreat. One day she would finish her degree in physics, but for now she was enjoying the simplistic lifestyle. Well, she was enjoying everything except not having any sex. There were two really hot guys who worked in the kitchen, but hot guys never went for her geeky self, so she drooled over them in her private fantasies. Until the day when fantasy becomes reality. Now they’re in a pickle and Ellie’s trying to think her way through it instead of leading with her heart. Will her heart overcome her brain in time to save them all?

I enjoyed the alternating POVs in this hot short story. Ellie is drooling over Kyle and Jake and Kyle and Jake are drooling over Ellie and none of them really have a clue that they all want the same thing. Well, Jake and Kyle know because they talk about it, but Ellie is clueless about them and they don’t want to scare her away. To make matters even more complicated the guys are werewolves and that’s where the major problem comes in after they hook up with Ellie. I loved Jake and Kyle, but Ellie irritated me with her waffling and over thinking. Yes, she’s a physics major and she’s all Spock Logical and shit, but come on! She completely ignores what her body is telling her not to mention sticking her fingers in her ears and saying la-la-la to her heart. Anyway…this is a hot story with m/f/m ménage action, but only implied m/m/f action. I’d be interested in reading more about the world in this book. Shifters and magic are things I love as well as steamy bits and humor.

Disclaimer: While I am an editor for one of the publishing houses with which Shauna Aura Knight contracts, this particular book was not published through us, nor have I personally worked with her on any of her projects. In addition, I did receive a complimentary copy of this book directly from the author. This is my honest opinion of this book.

There was something very magical about this story. Set in time leading up to and on the Winter Solstice, one can witness the main characters, Amber and Tristan, move from inner darkness to the light.

One of the aspects of this book that sat most profoundly with me, though, were the scenes in which the coven engages in ritual. One can almost sit and transition into other states of being while reading the passages. In truth, the words sat quite heavily with me. I found myself delving within, asking myself some of the questions posed to the coven during the ritual.

Those passages were my favorite parts of the book. It is more than obvious to me that the author is accustomed to and comfortable in the leadership position within a circle.

While, overall, I did like the book, there were - quite honestly - things about it that left me feeling less than enthusiastic about it.

The discussion the coven had following their first supper of the holiday together did wear on me a bit. As I read further along, though, I realized that it did play an integral role in plot.

In addition, while I do enjoy reading a good sex scene and (of course) expect it in erotica, I felt as though - given the length of A Winter Knight's Vigil - there were more than its fair share. Personally, I would have preferred more in the way of ritual as well as interaction with the other characters and between the main characters beyond sex.

Over all, though, I did enjoy the story and was happy to read the outcome between Amber and Tristan and believe this might be a wonderful story for one interested in paganism to read around the time of the Winter Solstice.
