This one was fun, it had all the right stuff; mysteries, hidden passageways, and enough twists and turns for a whole mental gymnastics team.

The Shape of Rain
(The Newirth Mythology-Part 3)
By Michael B. Koep
2018
will dreamly arts

Brilliant!! Absolutely amazing!! An adventurous, wonderfully twisted, perfectly crafted thriller about love-fear-madness-murder-prophecy-art and history.
Psychologist Loch Newirth is on the run when he realizes that it is not just him they are hunting, but also his young son, they follow leads that may help them end the madness the diaries he has kept have started. They want him to rewrite histories timeline. Meanwhile, his mentor, Marcus Reardon wants to keep him alive, for his own reasons.
"Truth in the stories contain power-as long as the population believes them. Immense power."
Newirth finds himself taken back to a prehistoric time of bloody Gods and the City Of Immortals, Wyn Avuqua and their queen, Yafarra.
"A missing, a longing, a need that can only be defined by the shape of rain, the weight of tears, the measure between love and endings."
Koeps ability to take the reader into alternative worlds,on a journey of mind and spirit is unique and wonderfully done. I was drawn into the history and culture of Wyn Avuqua, the Itonalya Tomb and Thi.
Unique and well worth reading. Highly recommend this series. Its unforgettable.

This was a great book! It certainly takes you for a ride through the unknown. Is what you're reading real? Or is it a work of fiction? Have you lost your grip on reality? Quite possibly.

Loche Newirth is a psychologist. He has some very interesting patients. When one dies of an "apparent suicide" and Loche disappears, he becomes a suspect. And because every psychologist must have a psychologist themselves to retain their sanity, Marcus Rearden is Loche's. Marcus is renowned for being a psychologist for the criminally insane as well as a well known author. He finds Loche's "journal" recalling the events leading up to his patient's death as well as what followed during his disappearance. It seems as though Loche may have gone off the deep end himself, but is he responsible for Bethany's death?

Ended slightly differently, this could have been a stand alone, but the twist ending makes me look forward to reading more in the series.

This is definitely a suspenseful psychological thriller, with a hearty dose of the supernatural. I feel this would appeal to a large variety of readers, from those interested in paranormal stories, to lovers of mystery and suspense.

*I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway. The review is my own, honest and unsolicited.

I received this book as an ARC from the author, and the book is very well written fantasy/thriller. The pace of the book is rather slow, and I didn't find the characters engaging. The book would probably make a good film though as the story is very visual. This book is just not my favorite genre.
