Childhood stories would always lead to my mom singing and that always made me happy. As I am now older that does not happen as much and you don't realize you will miss it when its gone.
Used this book for my author study on Yuyi Morales. She illustrated for this book and it has her signature market, deep brushstrokes and swirling colors.
"Floating on Mama's Song" tells the beautiful story of the power of a mother's song that is so pleasant that those who hear it float. Unfortunately, a problem arises, however, when the neighbors begin to complain that their animals can also hear the singing and have been floating. This forces the mother to stop singing, which makes her and her family sad. The story concludes with the young daughter showing her mother old photos from her childhood and it makes her happy again. She then begins to sing, which brings happiness once again to those around her.… (mehr)
Mama loves to sing and everyone who hears her floats above the ground. Though one day Mama stops singing and Anita feels that it is her job to get Mama to sing again and bring joy to the world.
