Faculty face ethical decisions each and every day. Ethics code violations appear in the news from time to time like when a well-known politician claims degrees or authorship, etc. of work that wasn't his own. Students, too, face ethical decisions - to cheat or not to cheat, to other types of ethical infractions. Many faculty are less comfortable of the ethics of researching their students' learning - known as the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning or SoTL - since some of the principles of SoTL research seem to confront the idea of detached examination as the researcher. One section of this book addresses ethics in SoTL research which help the novice SoTL researcher maneuver through unknown or uncomfortable landscapes.… (mehr)
