The fairytale of Goldilocks and The Three Bears is a classic. This book is told exactly as I remember it as a child growing up. The three bears go out one morning as their porridge cools off a bit. Wandering through the woods Goldilocks has not had her breakfast, and smells the porridge that Father Bear made. She finds where the smell is coming from and invites herself inside the home when no one answers the door. Goldilocks eats Baby Bear’s porridge and breaks his chair. The three bears come home to find that someone has been in their house. As they notice what has been done, Mother Bear hears snoring and the family follows the noise. They find Goldilocks in Baby Bear’s bed, sound asleep. Waking up freighted to three bears in the room, she screams which scares the bears and they scream as well. Goldilocks hops out the window and runs for her life, never returning. The three bears learn to always lock their front door when leaving home. When Goldilocks grew up she went on many adventures and “she never did eat porridge again.” The author gives great details in the text as well as in the pictures. When he describes the Bear’s things we notice the images are illustrated to give life to the text as we read. When Father Bear talks the text is much larger, Mother Bear’s text is smaller, and Baby Bear’s text is tiny. I feel the author made these obvious changes to the text to show the voices being used.… (mehr)

The book Goldilocks and the Three Bears was a very good story. The book was about a family of three bears who decided to go on a picnic. First a big papa bear, then a medium mama bear, and then there is a little baby bear. Then Goldilocks comes strolling along and stumbles upon the three bear’s home. When she noticed that no one was home, she decided to go inside. Then she eats the bear’s food, breaks one of their chairs, and falls asleep in baby bears bed. While sleeping, the bears come home and find her. The story uses some connotations such as home, and sunny clearing. Imagery was also used when the author described the plates for each bear and describing Goldilocks angry. This book is different from the original Goldilocks book due to all the details it gives. Also, some onomatopoeia was used. For example, “slam” and “crash”.… (mehr)

This is your typical Goldilocks story. It teaches children not to take things that do not belong to them.
