Mary De Laszlo

This was a bit of a strange book, not what I was expecting and, frankly, a bit disappointing. Lorna, Gloria and Rosalind are three woman around 40 who happened to be friends and happened to all marry men who are now 60-something. Each husband is difficult in some way and is causing problems for their wives (or ex in Lorna's case). When Lorna inherits a big country house Gloria comes up with rather a strange scheme to put the husbands there over Christmas to sort of teach them a lesson.

I found the storyline different to some other storylines out there, but not very Christmassy. I couldn't really take to the characters and have to say I didn't really care about what was happening to them. It's a mixture of a light read but also a bit of an aga saga too. I felt it had a bit of the Katie Fforde about it but without a really coherent storyline to bring it all together. I wanted to like it more than I did, I'm afraid.
