Erin loses two of the most important people in her life in a car accident. She turns off all emotions and does what she has to to get by. Years later, she's living in Italy as a fashion designer, still bottling up her emotions, when she meets Alex. Alex brings the old Erin back into the picture and teaches her to trust again. Of course, Alex knows more about Erin than he lets on but that seems to be the norm in a lot of these new adult books. On the whole, I enjoyed the story of Alex and Erin, especially because Erin was a rather strong female lead (imo) which is so not the norm in the new adult genre. I'd give KaSonndra Leigh another read.… (mehr)

Action, love and humor - this book has it all.

Chela is absolutely amazing and I really like her. She learns a lot more about her powers and herself in this installment and I keep being amazed by how cool this girl is. She is smart and courageous and her journey (both mental and physical) is very interesting.

I'm having a hard time choosing between Seth and Faris - they are both awesome! The connection between Faris and Chela is so strong and they are so great together, but Seth is so damn cute! But still, no real love triangle shows its ugly face - thank you for that, KaSonndra Leigh.

I'm not a huge fan of angles in YA litterateur, but these angels are different! They have cool powers and they are H-O-T.

The chapters differs between Chela and Faris, which gives us an opportunity to get to know both characters so well; Chela during her journey and Faris in his prison, remembering his past. Oh, I loved hearing about his past! These characters have so much to give and they keep amazing me.

I liked this book a lot more than the first in the series - probably because I had background info this time! This series is definitely worth checking out!

3.5 stars. KaSonndra Leigh’s Hacienda Moon is an interesting novel about a centuries old curse, a haunted house and mysterious deaths. To read my review in its entirety, please click HERE.

Book two in the series yet also a stand-alone novel. I have always been a sucker for a ballet story (as a child my absolute favourite book was Ballet Shoes). Thus having not read the first book this reader did not feel as though she was missing out on anything.

I did find the first couple of chapters confusing as the story involved three main characters and each one tells their story in the first person. This reader did feel that the first couple of chapters were quite repetitive. However the further into the novel you get the easier the reading becomes.

There are many elements to this ménage-a-tois story. The story is full of family loyalty, betrayal, self-discovery, new love, old love, falling in love, and finally familial secrets and betrayal.

The heroine has lived a very sheltered life not least from her mother, her brother and the all controlling initial love interest (on her part only), but also from the familial secrets. No sooner than the heroine meets the hero than she is thrown into a totally different world; a world of the importance of unconditional love.
There are many twists and turns which emphasises the idea that love is neither simple nor sweet. Each character had to endure challenges to prove they are perfect for their intended mate. These deep and fully believable characters kept this reader turning the pages hoping against hope that the heroine will chose the suitable hero despite their numerous obstacles. All set against in the world of ballet world with its charismatic costume designer. Ultimately who should she/will she chose? The Venetian backdrop is so beautifully described by the author that one feels that they are actually there experiencing the Venetian sights and sounds along with the heroine.

The author was able to give some very complex and interesting characters which meant many parts of the story had me eagerly turning the pages. You definitely get a lot of detail in this story, perhaps on a few occasions there was almost a little too much and distracted from the actual story line, but this aside I really did feel this was a positive first experience to this authors work and I am definitely intrigued to read more.

All that said, unfortunately, the ending was predictable which was a real shame after a well- paced romantic tale of love and self-discovery.

Full Disclosure: ARC received from Netgalley for an honest review.
