She gets 3 1/2* because the basic idea is good, and the projects are probably well suited for her main audience, which is decades younger than I am.

However, in spite of saying in the introduction that you can vary things to make them individual, there is little sign of that in the directions. 'Use an iron-on glitter star.' With a large photo of just the star. Adding 'or your preferred motive' would have been better. Even better a second example with different design choices.

Some of the directions are unclear. I certainly am left wondering how the slipper soles are supposed to work. No seam allowances are mentioned for the jeans pieces, and when you slip in the cardboard and batting, which belongs where?

The pictures seem to have been chosen to look good, but not to making the sewing clearer.

This was a good book to borrow from the library, but I'm glad I didn't buy it.… (mehr)
