A really good review of the basics from the French Revolution to the COld War, and funny too.
The value of this book depends on one's perspective. If you are expecting a serious and detailed narrative of European history then forget it, this book is not for you. If you have very little knowledge of European history and need a concise primer then this may prove to be a valuable read. This book introduces history the way a clever Junior High School teacher would, full of cutesy pop references that introduce key concepts and events of European history. Be warned, the book was published in 1996 and the popular references may be a bit outdated for anyone under 21.… (mehr)
