Saara Lilja (1923–2003)

Saara Lilja was a Finnish scholar of classical philology and ancient literature. She taught at the University of Helsinki and wrote numerous books, including The Roman Elegists' Attitude to Women (1965), Terms of Abuse in Roman Comedy (1965), The Treatment of Odors in the Poetry of Antiquity (1972), Dogs in Ancient Greek Poetry (1976), and Homosexuality in Republican and Augustan Rome (1983).
