I Do (But I Don't) von Cara Lockwood
A Real page turner :)
A nice quirky blend of horror, historical and mystery. While Miranda feels like she's the aggrieved party in her family, it's her wrecking her dad's car and maxing out his credit card that everyone focuses on. Those actions land her at Bard Academy, a creepy private school on an island off the Maine coast. She tries escaping to no avail, but after making friends with two other students and getting embroiled in a ghostly mystery, she's determined to figure out what's going on. Texting Under the Influence is the perfect book to turn to when looking for a quick and fun read. This story is hilarious, quirky and fun all at the same time. Cara Lockwood created the perfect characters for the perfect situation in the right book. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this story. Read this book for a good time. Received this book for an honest review.
There's a couple of reasonable stories tucked away in here, though none of them are really my thing. I did very much like the premise of the story Halo, Goodbye, even if the plot went in a direction that didn't interest me, the set-up and location were pretty cool (of course not 100% original, but then, nothing is these days...). I'd enjoy something longer (and less chick-lit) in the same setting.
