Kurzbiographie
William F Love (1932- ) grew up in Oklahoma, became a Benedictine monk at St Gregory's Abbey there, and was ordained as a Catholic priest in 1958. Following his resignation from the priesthood in 1969, he married, and became a banker at the First National Bank of Chicago. From 1984-1988 he worked as a private consultant, before becoming a full-time novelist, but he only appears to have published four books. He and his wife, with their two daughters, lived in Hinsdale, Illinois.

Rezensionen

When a priest wakes up in his girlfriends' apartment and finds her murdered, Bishop Regan and his assistant David Goldman, ex-cop, investigate.
Didn't actually find the characters that interesting or the mystery compelling, an okay read but didn't really like the writing style that much.

This was an okay book. I think part of the issue for me was that it is 4th in a series. It was an interesting take on the falsely accused trope that shows up in some thriller books. I enjoyed the fact that the main characters weren't just another officer pairing, and it did take me a bit to figure out who the murderer was. If you want to read these books definitely start with the first book.

Nero Wolfe knockoff; fairly well done as paraplegic Archbishop and his (non practicing) Jewish companion solve crimes from an NYC brownstone.
