This is one of those rare times I can honestly say I totally did not see that coming! And then everything makes sense.
The Perfect Liar by Debra Lynch was nothing like I’d expected. When we first meet Rachel, she seems to have the perfect life, perfect job, perfect ... everything. She is beautiful, well liked, and adored by many fans due to her YouTube channel. You really have to wonder what could possibly be wrong in this girl’s life. She then does something totally unexpected and out of character. This one act sets off the rest of the book. During this act, Rachel meets Dennis, who seemingly is obsessed with her.
The first part of the book is told from Rachel’s point of view, And it’s kind of hard to understand why she feels the need to misbehave the way she does. The second part of the book is the same story but told through the eyes of Dennis. This puts a whole different spin on things. I started questioning everything I thought I knew and realized I really did not know where this book was going to lead. In the last part, things quickly go completely wacko. I could not have guessed the motive behind both characters. I love how things were wrapped up and even made sense, yet I still sat there with my mouth hanging open!
