The Bible in Scotland von Sir Andrew Macphail
The proximate occasion for this extended essay was the proposed religious curriculum for schools in Scotland about eighty years ago. From that rather obscure start Macphail characteristically goes off into many areas of theology, philosophy, education, and public policy. The lively style of this sadly forgotten Canadian can often make even the most unlikely subjects interesting to the general reader, but even so, this is really a book for the specialist in Presbyterianism, Canadiana, or modern Scottish history.… (mehr)
