She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. Romance
The heroine decided to call off her wedding and go to her "honeymoon" at a luxury wilderness resort by her lonesome self. She meets the hero when he woke her up for a fishing lesson that she had signed up for as part of the "honeymoon" experience. The hero had been dumped at the altar in the past and is a grouch during the "Honeymoon Week" where his side gig is located. The hero and the heroine may not have hit it off quite well, but there is definitely an underlying attraction between them. As time passed by, will the hero and the heroine have a happy ending of their own when their pasts have such a strong hold in their views of love?
This is the third book in the GETTING HITCHED series by Cindi Madsen. Though the story focused on a main couple, the appearances of secondary characters from previous books enriched the book. The book can be read by itself, but for a better view of the series, the series should be read in order. Along with the human characters, the series have animal companions that makes each book an entertaining read. The romance may be quick in this book, but it works in the sense that the beginning of the couple's relationship began in a setting that said romance would have not been a normal one anyway. I would have enjoyed some more details in the story that would have given the story the finishing touch in my eyes. However, even my personal preference for more details wasn't a detriment to my enjoyment of the book. The author has a writing style that I enjoy, and I look forward to reading more Cindi Madsen books in the future.
